In his rage he decided to have all of his wise men executed (Daniel 2:12). It did not say how they were to be executed but in those days the usual way was they were beheaded, plus “Headless Men” was a great title for this post.
Long story made short, Daniel prayed with his core team of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. In the evening God answered their prayer and gave Daniel the interpretation to the king’s dream.
The important lesson: Our default in any circumstance should always be prayer, lest we end up headless men. But the thing I want to really draw your attention to was Daniel’s prayer of thanks to God after he got his answer:
“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons;
Pause a minute to praise God for who He is.
he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
Ask Him to continually guide you with His wisdom.
He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
Trust Him and that He is able to reveal deep hidden things.
Finally thank Him for all the answers to all your prayers in the past and those that He is yet to answer.
I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.” Daniel 2:20-23
Nice one Pastor Joey!
